Living in Sale most of my life it’s nice to see some up market ethical shops popping up on our doorstep.
Sale has now got its own mini version of the hugely popular Altricham food hall
The latest Groceries & Beer site has opened at The Square Shopping Centre, taking over the former Aladdin’s Den furniture shop as well as two adjacent units.
Mital Morar, owner of the Store Group, made us aware something was popping up soon on his personal Twitter account back in November, posting a picture of a premises licence in an empty shop window.
The turn-around was so quick as one day I just saw a plant shop and Aladdin’s den closing down next min the space stripped back to concrete floors and brick walls,
and filled with long wooden communal tables and modern wooden shelving.
The new site has a lovely selection of groceries to purchase, as well as coffee and pastries, a bar, and a street food offering. I was so pleased to see one of my favourite brands Sumawholefoods and I grabbed some Jack fruit and some fresh suma coffee. But what I really loved is the brilliant refillable soaps with a large collection available.
The first food trader to join the new location is Slurp Crackle and Pop, an Asian street food kitchen serving bao and noodles.
Beers on the taps at the bar include Northern Monk, Cloudwater and Pilot.
“I picked up one of the soap bars and they smell divine”
The new opening comes alongside the We Are Open campaign, launched by the people behind The Square shopping centre.
The campaign showcases the different traders within the shopping centre, from the newest to the ones who have been in place for decades.
Groceries & Beer in Sale is located at 13-19 The Mall and will be open seven days a week from 7am-9pm.
Pop and visit and have a look for yourself
