Jackfruit is a spiky fruit originating in southern India. It has a meaty texture and cooked correctly many people use it to make a plant based shredded chicken, pulled pork or other meat based recipes.

In this twist on the recipe we have added BBQ Sauce until it becomes sticky, popped it on some burger buns, added cheddar cheese and little gem lettuce.

We served with potato wedges made using our amazing Tefal ActiFry and created a great veggie burger Meal which even a hard core meat eater would love.

If you don’t have an Actifry you can pop the wedges on a baking tray with the seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil.

I only purchase my Jackfruit from Natures Charm this is one of my favourite online sources

Jackfruit simmered and cooked in a smoky BBQ sauce, served on burger buns with wedges and Little Gem lettuce.
