Himalayan Shilajit Traditional Ayurveda supplement, Believed to act as an Enhancer, Protector, Anti ager & Healer!

Shilajit is a mixture of minerals used traditionally in Ayurveda, with the main bioactive of Fulvic Acid. It appears to be put on a pedestal but is currently in the preliminary stages of research in the West. BUT I could not wait to find out more after my partner heard about it and we decided to try it out for ourselves. We have started a 30 day trial and will update the blog accordingly.

What is Himalayan Shilajit?

Shilajit is part of ayurveda a branch of medicine originating from India that focuses on oral ingestion of herbs and other supplements for optimal health; similar to traditional Chinese medicine, these herbs are being validated scientifically for their historical claims.

In Ayurvedic medicine, as well as throughout Nepal and India, the plant-based, mineral-rich resin shilajit is considered a national treasure. Purified in a method that is patented by the government of Nepal, this substance is sourced from the untainted, high altitudes of the Himalayan mountains and contained for its incredible health benefits; improving strength, immunity and vitality when welcomed into your diet.

Also known as Mineral Pitch, Jew’s Pitch, Mineral Wax, Salajeet, Brag-shun, Shilajita, Moomio, Mumie, Mumijo, Mumiyo, mountain sweat or mountain dew.

Shilajit is said to have many benefits

Enhancer for cognitive (mental clarity)

Physical for strength endurance & recovery

Energy (no crash)

Healing for sedation (pain control)

Tissue regeneration (bones,skin,organs and muscles)

Anti aging for anti inflammatory and anti anxiety

Protection from Anti radiation and anti alergic & anti toxin

Recommendations for taking Shilajit

These are only guidelines.

Shilajit can be dissolved in hot milk, water,green tea ,honey or ghee

We decided that green tea was our preferred way.

We added ours to green tea

The best time to take it is in the morning on an empty stomach and also advised to wait an hour before eating.

Beginners are recommended to start with a small amount ie less than a grain of rice so approx 100mg (rice grain) and then increase the amount gradually to a pea sized 300mg

They say not to take more than 500mg a large pea sized amount but each individual is different these are just general rules

Starting off with a grain of rice size is rec

Do not be in a rush to see benefits as it can take up to 5 days to notice the difference and if you notice headaches its said you may have taken too much so to ease off and refuse dosage.

It is recommended to take for 5 days on 2 days off
